I thought to myself after meeting such great people in the area and through out Texas i needed to put my money where my mouth is as I always advocate supporting local businesses and TEXAS in general. I contacted Bob with Pro Angler spoke to him about my needs for a couple of new rods. He's my bud and knows where and how I target crappie so he turned me on to the 8' Pro Angler Crappie rods. I was nervous about buying two peice rods wondering if I'd loose some feel but I trust Bob and went for it. Picked two of these great rods up yesterday.

So I hit the lake today with my rods (babies) and my new Pro Angler crappie rods. I used my rods that I also love for the first two hours and yes the bite is slow to say the least. I kept looking over at the Pro Angler rods that I rigged up before leaving the house with the Electric Chicken jigs I got from Gates Custom jigs that Russell was kind enough to throw in free with my order. So I'm thinking what the heck lets get out of the comfort zones and try something new as planned. Put my babies in their holders and grabbed the Pro Anglers with Electric Chicken. Boy the sensitivity of these rods were spectacular. I could feel everything underwater and was very pleased of the sensitivity while feeling all the structure.

Well after a few minutes while chatting a new buddy up at how happy I was with the purchase Whack! Yeah, I know it's a thump but with this rod and this fish it felt like a Whack!

Thanks Bob for helping with my decision on purchasing these. I'm happy about it for sure. Big thanks to Russell at Gates Custom Jigs for the extra crappie candies sent with my last purchase! Them babies definitely worked on a slow day!

+1 on the sensitivity of those 8' PA rods. I've had 2 since they were first offered and won't hardly put them down anymore. One of my Former Favorite (Brand X) rods got broke somehow lying in the boat Saturday and I've already decided it's replacement will be another 8' PA. Absolutely the finest crappie rod for the money.... for ANY money IMHO!

Just got into crappie fishing and after reading all the reviews went over and bought my dad and I an eight footer. WE loooooove them, I rate them a 10 on every aspect. If you have been thinking about getting one, do it, you will wish you did it sooner.

+1

I have 8, 10 and 12 footers
Perfect for spider rigging. Can't be beat at any price, but they are VERY reasonably priced.

Based on the information that I read here, I ordered a 8 footer a few moths ago and it's a great rod.
