Anybody have reviews of the Vance Manufacturing jack plates? Just got one for a good deal. It is the JPL 4500 adjustable 6" setback. It's going on my 21' Sprint with the Venom 200 to replace that disappointing rite hite JP. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Picked one up on eBay and ran it on my Dyna Trak and it had no issues ran it over 84 mph with a Merc F1 motor on a 16' boat. Not nearly as heavy a setup as you're running but I loved mine and had zero problems with it.

I purchased a 6 inch plate directly from Vance a few years ago for my Triton. I actually installed it myself. It was easy to adjust the motor height and I have not had a single problem from it.

I had a 6" on my nitro for a few years, it was durable and easy to adjust even on the water. For their price and craftsmanship you cant go wrong.

I'm impressed with the Vance Mfg jack plate. Seems very solid in rough water.

I'm unfortunate enough to own a Vance hydraulic jack plate. This thing is class A #1 junk. No if and or buts about it. It has never worked right from day one, it was sent back to the factory and replaced. The replacement didn't work right. After a few months of being able to raise the jackplate under power but having to stop or idle to lower it. They said I needed a new motor and pump, only way it's sold is a combination, which they sold me. The new motor and pump didn't solve the problem. This is on an aluminum 22' CC boat with a 115 Yamaha motor, no big deal not a heavy motor. I would not get in line to get a Vance if they gave em away. Hope you have better luck than I did, if not they make a good anchor.

You got hydraulic. I have a manual. I would have went with an Atlas or Bob's Machine Action hydraulic jack plate. When I'm ready for a HJP it will be out of those 2. Sorry for your pain.
