I've heard that fish can see braid and that it will decrease the amount of bites you get, true of not?

It'll work if it don't break.
Lately, I've been using Grand Slam Select for worm fishing. It's clear blue ultra violet. Everybody used Stren in the 70s and early 80s. Everybody.
I'm catching plenty with the blue line. I think folks put too much emphasis on line color.

Bad idea is super clear water. I used to use zebco 33's when I went fishing in the streams in the ozarks. When zebco went with cajun line I had trouble catching the larger fish. Re spooled with 8 lb mono and problem went away. Nowdays I use floro and don't have any issues. I think if you use a floro leader it's still OK.
If I were going to use something as wild as red line I'd just buy braid.

Well the Physics of it are a great idea. Unfortunately, the quality of the line is terrible.

last time I used it it had so much memory it looked like a spring. I was not a fan of it. Just my two cents. Good luck.

I've caught fish on it years ago. Granted, I was fishing "Inshore"(Hate that term). I've landed multiple 22"+ inch Specks, Slot Reds, and even a 32+lbs Jack Crevalle on 12lb no less...
I've fished in gin clear water(Offats Bayou-Galvez)... No problems what so ever. Do I use it now? No. Like I said it was years ago, and the spool was given to me. From what I can remember, the stuff was pretty strong for Mono.

I can tell you as a scuba diver that fish will not spook from red light (focus light), night or day but most will spook from a torch or spot.
