maybe i've gotten sloppy with polamar knot tying..watched a "wired to fish" youtube video, and he did a couple of things different..i've had this spool of line for awhile, and have not had the problem till very recently. The line guides look good..I'm still not sure what it is..maybe i need to lay off the weight lifting!

Check your guides to make sure none of them are cracked or chipped. I had the end guide cracked on one of my rods and it would fray the line. Snapped every time I set the hook. Figured it out after I put new line on reel and it kept breaking. ^^^^

KVD is water based, Reel Magic is petroleum based.
I've used reel magic on all my FC for a long time with no problems.
Never put it on the knot and predominately tie Palomar.
