Schools out for the summer  or in my case till two-a-days:) We opened up on some calaveras catfish this week and were surprised by the average sized fish. First trip took 9 gallons of fillets home..sweetness Tom Dewet, Delton and Brett started things off with a bang catching 75 fish in little over two hours, including a good blue.  [/URL] They couldnt hardly stand it and Delton and tom came back bringing Chuck back for an encore...took a little longer but the boys got it done..75 fish limit again  I did alot of trips this week so I'll try to fill in the highlights and give some details. Cute Couples from Mason,Tx with nice mess  Columbus Boys hit home run...Jackson,Claden,Grandad Calvin fish morning trip...Jackson catches new PENDING Calaveras lake record Channel cat at 7.9 lbs...He fought it like a champ..too much fun with kids and fishing.. Forgot the meat and potatoes..
Calaveras- slip corking channels in 3 to 5 ft with Big MArvs proved best...blues were best drifting in 19-28 fow with tilapia or shad
Canyon blues and yella all came on shad fished from 3-26 fow. Best bite was shallow along grass lines.

Wow ! That's great ! Hope that record holds for that young man.
I'm taking my wife to Canyon Lake, Tom Creek, this coming week. How deep of water should I fish for channel catfish ?

Doc...I've only caught a handful of channels at canyon..there in there..just don't target them..If I did I'd be in toms creek or mouth of river in 10 to 25 fow..hope this helps

good to hear your still out there bud..
15. Signature images may not be larger than 600 pixels wide by 125 pixels tall. This includes logos, photos and other graphics. Also, no more than one row of images are allowed. If you want four or five logos in your signature, reduce their size to fit in one row.
