Thanks Dennis for the information on
how to utilize the Mepps for sandbass.
At the end of the youtube video you
describe the area you were fishing.
Is this area marked on the Cedar Creek Lake
Fishing Spots Map Legend you posted, if so, which lettering
was this area marked?
thanks
appreciated greatly

In the video I said I was on East Hump. That's 'W' on the map.

Great video.

It's cool that you are using Vanish and the Durango rod too. Use the right tool for the job rather than arbitrarily spending the most $. 19 fish in 20 casts speaks for itself.

Thanks for posting the video Dennis. Had a box full of mepps I purchased after reading your article a few years back. Tried them a few times and didnt catch a thing and just never developed any confidence but I was doing it all wrong. Gave it another shot today and first cast 15" white. Finshed with 20 or so whites (didnt have a clicker) and a 25" hybrid. No yellows. Thanks again.

Hey that sounds just like my story, ATM smile

I got pretty good at it today. I am using 30 lb power pro braid (8lb dia ) and it works just fine too. FYI.

What did you have the orange marker on?

Was it a drop off from shallow to deep, a hump, a point or what?

I doubt I will get to fish that lake so the location of where you were is not a big deal as much as why you were fishing there.

Thanks.

I t is a small, deep hump 23 fow on top with 30+ fow all around - a great structure. Sister and I caught over 300 magnum whites on it one day in May.

Thanks for the tip, I might try to power pro Todd. I know I missed alot of bites today just not knowing what kind of bite I was looking for. Fished 10# mono. That braid is just so much more sensitive.

What is the ticker symbol for mepps....

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
