Banker, I'm just curious how you hook your worms? I've tried a couple different ways with various pieces of night crawler and cant seem to get them to stay on the hook long.
I crush the barb down on all my hooks to make release faster and more painless for the fish, as well as myself if I get stuck...maybe this is why? I'd appreciate any advise.
And your creek looks great! Lots of nice cover. I love the turquoise lines in their faces. Ever since yall got me hooked on fishing for gills the other week I've been constantly amazed at the beauty and variation of these little guys. Well done!

Thanks "Chuck7700" and "13MWZ" for the replies. "Chuck7700" I hope your father's day went well. "13MWZ": I use a size 6 Cricket Hook from Mustad. I do not file down the barb and for the most part have had no problems with a good release. Every now and then I would cut hook one but that is just fishing. I thread the worm over the hook and up the shaft of the hook. I leave about a half to a full inch of worm over the tip of the hook. The reason I like the cricket hooks is you can get a lot more worm on the hook which attracts bigger fish.
