Yellow magic is the best lure ever made. I'll throw them suckers all day and catch fish if its calm or over cast. 1/4 oz alewife = deadly!! Go get ya 2 of them and get ready to catch fish. They are amazing. Well worth the money. Same thing with jackal square bills. I'm hooked on those as well. You get what you pay for.

YM is my "goto" top water bait. My experiences say they will out-perform the Pop-R.
Check them out at Brannan's Bass House - a little cheaper there.
One caution though - keep a close watch on the hooks. They are very sharp, but if they get bent (by a fish or a snag), straightening them will weaken the hook and the straightened one will break --- lost several nice fish because of that. Now I swap out the hooks if they get bent!
C. What hooks do you use to replace them with?

I'm old....my time is mine....my fishing is therapy .....I only hurry for two things....pie....and PIE.....
It only takes 15 minutes and that's just being careful because its hard to put material back after it's gone!

It really isn't a fad. I know we've been selling them constantly for at least 8 years. Best selling hardbait next to the DD22 (now the 10XD)

I've used Owner, Gammy, Excaliber and Mustad -- all work fine. The feathered treble is whatever the store has. Sometimes they don't carry many different brands.
Try to find the same size, expecially shaft length.

Why are they so high? Just looked at Tackle Warehouse and they are $15.95-16.95. That will make you think twice about where you throw them. Maybe I am just getting cheap. . Worth every Penney. How are you going to Lose the bait, it floats. Just don't throw it in a tree...lol. I use 30lb braid with it.

I use a ML 7' 0" Crankbait rod. 15# BG. Tie a Uni-knot or Cinch knot to it. Make sure it is pulled snugged toward the bottom portion of the eyelet. More popping actions.
