Here are a tiny TINY percent of the fish we caught the first afternoon/evening. I cannot even begin to explain how many fish are in this pond. BTW, we did all of our fishing from the dock of our cabin. Too lazy to walk the banks, or take the little boats out.

I tried my best to get a photo of all the fish off our dock, you can kind of see the shadows, but it's only an iphone camera!

there were literally thousands of fish. Here's a quick video of throwing some feed in the water:

Saturday, the fiance and I went into Athens. A farmers market, then off to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center.

And finally the last fish from Saturday, including the official last fish of the trip, which happened to be the smallest. (I acutally went out sunday morning with the fly rod and caught a few more, they just weren't "official").

Ok I think I fixed all the doubles. I hate photobucket. And I am a terrible picture taker. I look drunk in all these pictures and I wasn't! Lucky to have a girl like her, she even caught a fishing pole! Again, I cannot stress how many bream are in this pond. And bass, big bass at that. Couldn't get them to bite when I saw them (only throwing bream bugs) but I caught lots of little ones on the fly rod. Lost one crappie at the dock (also stocked in the lake), no catfish but saw a couple, and saw some massive tilapia I couldn't get to bite! Great place to stay. Did not keep any fish as I was on vacation and didn't want to clean them. There are some big gills in there, but I will say none of them have the thickness of the ones I caught at Lake Raven. We caught them on crickets, worms, bread, hot dogs, gulp lures, 3" artificial worms, various panfish jigs and lures, tiny crank baits, rooster tails, crappie nibbles and flies. They weren't picky. Be an great place to take a kid, they'd catch fish till their arms fell off.

Good times there, sir! Looks like something I'd like to take my wife and 2 little girls (2 and 5) to do. Are there many folks at the lake or just the people staying in the cabins? Looks like it's pretty quiet around there.

I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

It would be great for kids, only thing I could see is there are no hand rails on the dock/pier, but there are 4 cabins total, all different, and 5 lakes/ponds, so one of the other cabins might fit your need. If you google Bluegill Lakes Cabins, a website on Angelfire pops up, or on facebook. I also have their phone numbers if you cannot find them online. Very nice couple who runs it. There is nobody around other than the Weatherford's (couple who owns it), and whoever else is staying in the other cabins. Extremely quiet and peaceful.

Thanks for sharing your trip! I did not see a fish fry? Is it catch and release only?
