I have found when they are flopping around and really tearing up the shallows, bass will vacate. +1 - active shallow carp = no bass bite in my experience.

funny, my buddy and I fished Alvarado last Monday and carp were all over the area's we caught fish. He actually caught an 8.4 that day where carp were everywhere.

In my experience when the carp are up slinging eggs you might as well go on to the next spot if you fishing shallow on the banks. + 1
