okay so i see people all the time with these real thick fishing rods ranging from 5 to 8 feet with these metal leaders with six oz sinkers and they really expect to catch game fish like specks flounders and reds...... PLZZZ STOP IT YOU DNT NEED A 300 DOLLAR SET UP EITHER MY RODS AND REELS RANGE FROM 20 T0 100 BUCKS I FISH WITH 12LB TEST AND MY LEADER AT THE MOST IS 20 LB FLURO..... IF YOU CNT FISH ARTIFICIALS SIMPLE SET UP FOR MOST INSHORE SITUATIONS CAROLINA RIG WITH 3/4 SINKER 10 TO 18 INCH FLURO LEADER AND YOUR HOOK OF CHOICE FISH WITH LIVE SHRIMP MULLET OR CROAKER.....THE NEXT RIG IS JUST A SPIT SHOT ABOVE YA MAIN LINE AND YOUR HOOK OF CHOICE AND DRIFT YOUR BAIT IN THE CURRENT YOU DNT NEED A BOAT. I FISH FROM THE SHORE AND I PROMISE YOU YOU WILL CATCH MORE GAME FISH AND ALOT LESS TIME CATCHING BS

ILL HAVE PICS SHOWING YA NOOBS LATER

I MADE THIS POST BECAUSE IT FRUSTRATES ME WHEN IM CATCHING FISH AD PEOPLE WITH THIS OFFSHORE TACKLE TRY TO FISH AS CLOSE TO ME AS THEY CAN AND ALL THE DOING IS SPOOKING THE FISH. IM NOT BREAKING IT DOWN JUST A LITTLE RUN DOWN ON BETTER YOUR CHANCES TO CATCHING MORE GAME FISH.

Good advice!! You could use a broomstick offshore, but you don't need the heavy stuff in the bays, or the surf. I was in Galveston several years ago, without any fishing equipment, and watched some guys catching trout off the rock groins. I went across the street to Walmart, and bought a $19 Zebco, and some touts. I ended up catching 4 really nice trout.

Ha I used to see that all the time $300 rod $300 reel. I'm from Port Arthur I grew up using homemade cain poles and zebco 202's. I use fishing as my release, and there is nothing worst than someone seeing you catch fish and begin casting in that same area.

I've saw worse on the dikes boat rods and rollers. I have 1 heavy action rod and that's for gar fishing. I'll be headed that way soon nothing like being at home plus they have more spots with less people. We normally fished off the rocks targeting flounder, and reds. And sheepshead
