Now this ins something I got last year and so wanted to try it this spring, but since our Hydrilla has not come back enough I had to troll in stump infested places so didn't try it. I hope this next fall or spring the hydrilla will come back enough for me to use it as I don't think this would be easy to use where I was fishing this last spring. I do not have many of these as I just bought 5 of them for myself and then tied these my version of gnats. The Alabama rig it self is only 11 grams and the jigs/gnats are without lead weight so the entire thing is not heavy at all. So not for selling at all and only for the idea. My brain just remembered the weight on the ones I sold last year which were larger, but still plastic. This one only weighs 3.5 Grams. Sorry for my malfunction! I would enjoy hearing some thoughts about this rig though. Skip

Hmmm, if you only got 5 of them...stay in open water vertical jigging over brush piles....looks like a hangup waiting to happen....say, were you gonna put some 50 lb braid on that medium heavy baitcaster pole?

I plan on using it over hydrilla where there are no snags and when out hydrilla comes back better I have plenty of spots like that.

I have used u-rigs for stripers and they work great, the striper version are way heavy, so that should be awesome. In my cove at Rayburn I was catching crappie over hydrilla, so I am interested as well since it is not that heavy. I think they catch fish and road runners work good, so I was thinking a u-rig of road runners. ???

Try it out towards evening in the backs of coves in Veach.

I know where Veach is so thanks a load! I bet in the fall it can be really good with the Hydrilla. I am thinking this may also be good at night with the green light. Just don't let it get deep enough to get to the brush and slowly move it from side to side.

Now that is a heck of an idea and have a bridge less than 1 mile away.

Odd that this would be the first post I open this week...I was contemplating doing this very thing while fishing over hydrilla beds on Rayburn over the weekend! it'll be a few weeks before I get back up there, so I'll be watching to see if you have any luck

I just need to get over to Rayburn as our Hydrilla is still not back enough at least where I fish, but I should look a little harder because surely there is some place here with good enough beds of that great grass!

How do you think I feel sine I have had this rig for months and tied the little jig and attached them probably 3 months back, LOL! It is driving me crazy and can't help but look at it while I am tying as I have it hanging right next to where I sit.
I need to do something to try it!
