How many kits did it take?

2 kits, although it was really more like 1 and 1/2. The kit comes with 2 sheets in it, and I've got 1 left from the second kit.

Great work!

a very sharp pair of scissors. Made the patterns with just plaint old notebook paper, and then traced them on to the back of the STS.

Sharp scissors and some very steady hands!
I promise you mine wouldn't look that good!

Wish that stuff wasn't so expensive. $35 x 2 for a bunch of stick on foam is a bit high.

I bet there's some guy out there willing to lend a steady hand for just a few brews. Summer vacation just started, so at some point this teacher is going to be bored.

Coach, would you direct me to which "kits" you were referring to? The one I got from Mountain Sports doesn't quite have that much coverage. Even the long pieces in the kit are lacking.

Thanks

from what I've seen there are 2 types of kits. One has precut pieces in it. I didn't get that kind, but many people do. It's got some nice shapes in there that fit some standard areas, but allows little option for custom fitting. From what I've seen on the forum here most get the 2nd type of kit. That one includes 2 sheets that are about 18" x 12". It doesn't seem like very much when you open the package, but with some careful planning, I think you'll find that you'll have enough to do what you want without going overboard. I bought 2 packages @ about $30 each. I still have most of 1 sheet left and a few scraps. I'm at the point now where I think if I add anything else it'll start to look cluttered. I was thinking of lining the spaces in the area behind the seat where most people put their crates. But that'd just be for the pup, so it hasn't gotten done yet.

Mariner Sails has two kits in store. One has several pre-cut pieces with two large sheets, and the other has just large sheets for cutting out your own pattern.
