All I'm gonna say is they fish great but seem cheap, you can't put to much tackle in the front or it gets front heavy, ride not so good, the z8 with a 250 will fly though.

I Fished two years out of my partners Z9. Boat was great in rough water and has a huge front deck. Only two positive things I can say about it. Stress cracks everywhere, seats are pulling apart, fake chrome bezels are flaking and carpet is coming up. This boat is stored in an air conditioned and heated shop when not in use.

I am on my 3rd Z8 and absolutely love the boat. In fact, I have had 6 Nitros and have never had any problems with any of them. People who bash are simply trying to justify why they bought what they bought & really don't have any first hand knowledge. If you want the "bling" then Nitro is probably not for you, but if you want a great boat for a not so ridiculous price then you will not be disappointed. The 225 Pro XS is perfect for the Z8 and you will have lots more money for the things that really matter (nicer electronics, power poles, overpriced fishing lures, entry fees, gas, a nicer home, etc. etc.) Yes what was said here. "If you want the "bling" then Nitro is probably not for you, but if you want a great boat for a not so ridiculous price then you will not be disappointed." Been runnin a Z-8 since 2010 and I run it like I stole it, 225 pro xs, absolutely satisfied!!

Picked up my Z7 a year ago and been on 30 plus trips. Love it so far with zero complaints.
Not sure or do I care what the resell value is going to be.
Buy what makes you happy and to heck with the rest!

I was at BP yesterday looking at a Z8, they are very plain. I liked the Z9, too bad you cant get the same layout in a Z8 as the Z9. I did notice that if you rig one out they are not much cheaper than the bigger brands.

I had a different experience with upfront cost than some have mentioned above. When I was pricing my Z9, fully loaded with HDS front and back, structure scan, 36 volt TM, two PPs, 2nd console, embroidered logo in carpet, hot foot, etc, etc.... I was a good $10k to $15k less than the same size Skeeter with the same equipment. Maybe I just caught Nitro at a good time, but I didn't find that they were close to the same upfront price as the others at all.
Also, I had what I think to be a good resale experience on my 911 CDC that I sold right before ordering my Z9. I got just over half my money back at resale after owning the boat for 9 years. Are other brands doing better than that on resale?

There is a lot of good responses here. Thanks. I agree when you add the bells and whistles so to speak, hds, power poles, 36v trolling motor it does add up. I am looking at one fully loaded except the power poles has a hds 9 and 7 with structure scan for $51k. I don't think you can get a new major brand boat for that.

This is my first post ever but I just had to add my 2 cents. I ran a 1993 Nitro 190 TF for 18 years and fished over 100 tournaments out of it. Never had a single problem until the merc 175 EFI ingested a dirt dobber and had to rebuild. When I traded it for a Nitro Z-9 last year everything still worked, carpet looked great and there was only one small tear in the middle seat from people stepping on it. When I decided to upgrade last year I only seriously looked at skeeter and Nitro due to the layouts and the front deck size of the boats. My new Z-9 set me back 45k and the skeeter with the same equipment was 65k. No Brain-er. I could not be happier with my Z-9. I have fished 20+ tournaments out of it an have had no issues with it and I love it. I will freely admit that the skeeter has a bit better fit and finish but no where close to 20k worth in price difference. And lest you think I bought a stripped down Z-9 I have the 36v trolling motor and 2 HDS 7's and an HDS 10 (from old Nitro) with almost every option other than power poles. If you are considering a new boat I can recommend Nitro from over 20 years of personal experience. I might add I kept my Nitro's garaged, waxed and the upholstery treated with armor all for UV and they have returned the favor with durability. The 250 Pro XS has been flawless and runs 72 with a full tourney load. Again just my 2 cents
