Deer season opens today BUT if your not into 250 to 300 pound whitetails and know how to handle cold fishing trips Big Tasty STEELHEAD/RAINBOW trout are everywhere in shallow waters and all them type 2 rivers are excellent spots to to be fishing with baits close to bottoms. some of them choice spots only (logical) way in is yak to a hole get out of yak wade to edge and and get ready for a wilderness airial acrobats tail walking trout show. MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES WEEKLY FISHING REPORTS AND TIPS titled: >>Target Steelhead this Fall for Serious Fun<< http://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/MIDNR-5cdbe0 Lots of folks deer hunting stands are litterally within walking distance to trout action. ENJOY

I was in rough water with my inflatable sea eagle a few days ago. It reminded me of that OH SO COOL sound that big woodie makes in rough water. Deep in the wilderness the only sound you hear is wind blowing across that open water, and the Big woodie slapping the surface. Them big waves lifts the bow completly out of the water and gently slaps it down like music to the ears and heart. I miss them LAKE SUPERIOR RIVERS AND LAKES!

The word is them big steelhead are moving up the rivers and streams. Coho salmon too. Heavy snows and cold temps caused a late melt/slow ice outs. But they are on the move now. If ya happen to be visiting Porky Pine Mountain state park western upper peninsula. might try the ST Croix River. :-).
