The ball is now rolling thanks to everyone's hard work! Our permit is being finalized in Austin for the stocking. Also, our friends at the fish farm in Arkansas are going to donate to our cause as well. A big thank you goes out to Mike Freeze for his willingness to help our efforts.

Just to go over the details..... I thought it was going to be five fingerlings for $1 but it turns out it is four. That was a miscommunication on my part. Mike is not only going to deliver the fingerlings for free but is also going to contribute five thousand more fingerlings himself.

So $10,000 gets us:
- 40,000 hybrid striped bass fingerlings
- Guaranteed live delivery into Hubbard
- 5,000 additional fingerlings

I've also spoken to the head biologist for Lake Ray Hubbard and he is excited about our mission as well. They stocked three million fry into Ray Hubbard last month and have the equipment on standby ready for our delivery. I'm actually putting Rafe in touch with Mike Freeze because they need to go over the details on who is going to temper the fish and how. They have steps that get the little guys adjusted instead of just dumping them in.

Some other good news is that I believe Tawakoni is getting the same deal we are so those of us that support both causes have double the reason to be excited. Joe Read will be updating us at some point.

They will be pulling the new crop of hybrids out of the earthen ponds in the next few weeks and I'll keep you posted on the projected delivery date as soon as I know more. My guess is that it will be toward the end of June but keep on eye on our website and here on TFF.

Tight lines gents,

Jackson fish

Wow that sounds great. Three Million sounds like a lot but I guess with it being fry it needs to be. Our 45,000 fingerling is vantastic. Thanks to all that has made this happen. Pat

I wonder what the survival rate is for the fry vs the fingerlings? My guess is the fingerlings will have a much higher survival rate.

Here is Hubbard's stocking history. In 2005 they did 1.5 million. If they did 3 million this year it may have been to make up for the past two years they missed. 2013 data is not available yet... Great report Jackson thank you!

Way to go everyone!!! We should have some kind of get together the day they drop them puppies in the water. I'd like to see that process.

Hey guys,

Fry vs. fingerlings is a huge difference. The survival rates are totally different.

They did add the 3 million but not sure what percentage of those will actually make it to the fingerling stage or to the 1 year mark. Either way, Hubbard is still very low on the fish per acre scale so the more the merrier.

Of course I will let everyone know when the little guys and gals will be delivered. We will need a celebratory toast of diet milk at the marina.

Jackson
