I can't view the pics at work due to some pop-up blocker on our network but I assume that the rudder is attached to your trolling motor somehow? I need to do that with mine, too.

I don`t know if your post was directed at me but if so ,no.I have my troll motor up front and mount my rudder to the back of my boat.My transducers are mounted to my troll motor.one is 2D and the other is down scan for two seperate units.HDS5x&Elite-5DSI

The rudder would have to be at the other end of the boat to work.

If you are talking about the rear of the boat I guess so

FFM you are right & also very smart but Somehow I get the feeling that ON THE BANK didn`t understand where I had the Rudder located when he suggested I had my trolling motor attached to it.So I was just trying to clear things up for him.He had said that he could not see the pic`s on his Computer. thumb

Do any of you guys have rod holders mounted on your boats?
I like to troll and want rod holders for my spinning rods.

I messed up and bought some RAM rod side mount rod holders from BassPro and I don't like where I have to mount the base. I think I need one that sits on top.

I do like the 4" riser, I would even go for a 6" rise from the base.

I bought the metal ones from Walmart and mounted them on my boat. I have two bases in the front, two on the sides and 2 in the back. I just place my holders wherever they are needed.

If your not opposed to putting a hole in your boat I would say to try the recessed ones that are like a cup holder and fill it with marine silicone to seat the rod holder and seal it off on the gunwale. That would be the most sturdy option IMO.

I mounted them and they work great. I spent a few hours trolling around getting use to them and I think with a little adjusting I can make them perfect. They are easy to reach and are both out of the way, just what you want in a mount. I will get some pictures and post them later.

Anybody crazy enough to go out in their buster yesterday? I have had all of the wind related issues I can handle this year so far so I kept it at the house. Let me know how they were biting.

I did not, but have had it out in wind like that before. It was not fun, and actually got a little sketchy...water breaking into the boat, swamped it.

Then as the boat got heavier it sat lower, leading to... you guessed it, MORE water in the boat making the boat sit LOWER on the water.

I do not suggest you try this at home! 30+ MPH might be better to bank fish or stay home like you did.
