Does balancing rod holders work on 100 yards plus on the bank or do they just work on fishing barges?? I have seen people use it on kayaks. But would they work on long session fishing??

I wouldn't do it for long session fishing Jo. Too many variables like wind, sleep, etc. I would stick to a pod for long session fishing. Balancing rods for myself has always been for vertical fishing or very short casting.
I thank God for each day!

This was my set up for distance fishin at a barge or any where before euro. I did use balancers back in the day, i have 2 made out of cedar that that had adjustable weights to counterbalance the rod and reel fishing varying distances.

a slip sinker is all you need when balancing rods. 1/2 oz works well most of the time. it also matters what rod and reel you use. too heavy of a reel and you have you use foam or something on the rod so it wont slide around. i always had mine where it would balance on the cork part of the handle, above the reel and a 1/2oz sliding lead would keep the line tight but not too tight, and just enough tension that you could see the tip go down on the bite. i caught tons of fish this way and is how i became known as buff man at the barge many years ago.

Thats more like slack lining. My entire set up is balanced, including my weight on the bottom of the lake. Im talking about 80 yards out.

I saw a lot of guys balancing their rods when I was fishing a pay lake in Atlanta. It's a little different but cool. I was digging their way and they were digging our euro set ups. I like euro better personally.

Euro is used world-wide, it has been proven through years of testing and proof in the pictures and records those fine anglers accomplished.
