I was tied to the dock. The big motor quit and would not run under power, it would barely even idle. Also broke the foot switch on the trolling motor earlier that day so it'd only run on cruise control. After the 2hr journey back to the ramp the trolling motor was not able to hold the boat in the cove with that wind or else I would not have been tied up. The ski boat that was tied up was also having motor issues and lacked a trolling motor. I apologize for the inconvenience but I promise ya I was more frustrated than you, didn't even get to weigh our fish .

Tell ya what though, it was one of the best mornings fishing I've had this year. Caught a ton!

Grapevine this time of year is only okay if you are on early and off early. Doesn't help any tourney guys but I don't tourney fish so for me once it warms up enough for the recreation folks I am on the water by 6:00 and off well before noon and rarely have any ramp issues at all.

Snapped this picture Saturday morning while I was launching my boat. This guy was standing ON the ramp fishing across it. His leg is about a foot from my truck, and he was standing in the exact same spot while I put my boat in the water. He was casting OVER my trailer and reeling his bait over it............unbelievable.

I thought all of the Lville rats moved to PK, 20 years ago we had a great lake.We heard the law was to rough on Lville so they moved west. But a few have spent the night in Palo Pinto county jail where a lot of them needed to be.

From May to September, on weekends, get there before 6:30am, after 9pm, or not at all. That's the only way to go at the metro lakes.

For urban lakes like Grapevine and Lewisville there should be a fisherman only ramp.

you might be on to something there! If we could make that happen I would have ZERO problem paying a $10-20 launch fee.

I've fought the crowds so long I made up my mind years ago to only fish during the week from mid May thru early Sept. I'm much happier now.
