I know it is a Ranger, so it really doesn't matter, but I would think that all those screens sticking up in the air would slow the boat down a bit. Hate to have one of those things come off the mounting bracket and end up in my face.
Seriously, everyone should be allowed to buy what makes them happy if they can afford it. That being said, if you buy that stuff, learn to use it and then wear it out.

I was searching around on another site in the for sale section and ran into this ad and noticed the price and asked myself, Why????? If guys were catching bass and doing all the things they were doing back in the 70's without all the toys we have today, what is the point??? Do we tend to over complicate fishing to be the cool kid on the block with biggest and baddest toys??? 3-12" units(1 bow 2 console) mounted on this boats along with power poles, etc.... 13 Ranger 520C 13 250 Merc Pro XS Price 75,000 A bass has a brain about the size of an english pea. ....and that's a BIG bass. Frankly, they just aren't that smart. They react to lures the same as they always have. What has changed is marketing. And people are buying. +1

Having a 75,000 dollar boat still doesn't make one a better fisherman then a person with a 10,000 dollar boat.

Ya, the fish that were alive since the 70's are educated! Sorry, we give a bass to much credit.

I wonder if the guy fishing out of a float tube is bashing the kayakers. Maybe the bank fisherman think they're smarter than all of us boaters. In fact, the guy under the bridge with a cane pole is probably the best fisherman in the world...
I have a really nice boat. Do I think it makes me a better fisherman? No. Do I give a half a terd what you think about my boat? Your guess!

I have no problem with what people want to do with their money, they earned it.Now, I know way too many people that are in debt up to their eyeballs to try and look like they can afford. I don't judge one bit. Boats are not investments, I don't care how much money you have. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a boat, just raised a bit different. My grandad retired with a lot of money and still lives In a trailer house and when he pulled the tires off of it he turned them into planters for his flowers. Now, if I had the money for something a little better, I would get it. I will be selling my boat soon and saving the money for a few ears to pay cash or at least most of it when I buy it. Is it really smart to spend 75k on a boat? No it isn't but if you have the money to burn and it won't affect your family you have every right to do so.

I don't care if it really is better than any other comparable rigged boat, still way more than average Joe can afford or should try to justify. Also, I don't care how much someone makes or has in the bank, it is still about egos and wanting to be like a pro on weekends. Most guys can either catch fish or they can't no matter how much their boat cost. Well if you don't care what they make or have in the bank, then why do you care what they spend it on? It's obvious you actually do care or you wouldn't bother commenting on it. It's your money, spend it on what you chose. You can call it weekend pro or whatever you want but your opinion doesn't matter because you didn't write the check. Hell I've spent more on a single Scotty Cameron putter than most people spend on graphs. I earn that money, I save some, I spend the rest on what I like and it's no one's business but my own just like the rest of these guys.

It seems to me that the bass fishing world has exploded over the last ten years. I give it another 10 before it settles down. I remember shaking my head at the first $50,000 bass boat, now therte $75,000. If manufacturers keep this up, they will price there way out of everyone's pocket. Well, just about everyone's pocket.

The real thing to ponder is why others care what an individual spends on their hobbies or passions in life?
Life is too short....
The only difference in men and boys is the price of their toys!

No, the price for a fully decked out 20--21' boat with a 250hp and all the finest electronics and add ons might be out of some folk's reach but for every one of those boats there is an affordable one out there. It might not have all the bling or be as big and fast but if a man wants a good boat then they will always find one in his price range.
