Man Banker...that is AWESOME!!! That is going to be one cool conversation piece on your wall! I am actually a big fan of unusual mounts. I mean even I have a LMB mounted on my wall!! But I have been wanting to do a nice gill mount for years. My brother did a large crappie and a huge white bass he caught. I always thought those were so cool because it's different then your normal game fish you would see mounted.

Fishmounter did an awesome job and that fish looks as good as it can. I also found it interesting about the rio. Since it has such a limited area and it seems like the guys that actually target them or consider them a true game fish number in the tens...LOL, I guess it would be hard to find someone that could do a good mount of one (I have never seen a mounted rio). I too have seen some of those behemoth rios with those ugly a$$ heads, but to me they are still some of the coolest fish to be found in the US. I think it would be super cool to have a mounted rio!!! I bet a lot of people wouldn't even know what the heck it is!!

But it also got me to thinking if fishmounter was about to do the first rio mount ever (and Chuck would be the first owner of a mounted rio). I googled it out of curiosity and this is all I found (I'm sure there may be more but I gave up looking). It's from 08' and there is mention of them being mounted before...but even so, I doubt there are very many.

Great information and thanks "Urban Fisher". I personally have never seen a Rio mount. Looking forward to seeing this one. Like you said you can probably count the anglers who target Rios on one hand. I myself also think they are a Super Fish!

Mark you got to get that HOG you caught last month on your wall. I got one that I caught on Buchanan eight years ago on the wall and it weighed 18.50 Lbs. It is one beautiful fish. Yours weighed almost 30 Lbs. I could only imagine how that would look hanging on the wall.

Side Note: You always know how to find the BIG ONES!
