The only people taking huge losses are those that sell every 2 years. And it doesnt matter what brand it is, it will be alot less than what they pay upfront for it. Most people i know keep there boats for 5+ years. There is a 2013 Ranger for sale in the boats for sale section, listed for 70k plus, asking 53k and its only 4 1/2 months into the year. Talk about a loss!!!

There is a give or take with every brand. Ride, storage, fishablity, stability. To get one you got to give up something else. Each boat has their characteristics of each. You gotta spend the time in each model to decide what is going to be happy with you.

I love my skeeter but that is because its mine, we will all say we love what we have hints that is why we have them. I fish with friends out of there bass cat and ranger and have to say I like them both also. All very good boats just have to see what you like and what fits you. You cant go wrong with any in my mind.

I see ads for boats for sale all of the time that are 1 year old. I guess some people are "given" boats, too.

Ranger Z520 is the cream of the crop.
Buy any other boat, and you will soon be selling it at a deep loss and looking to buy a Ranger Z520.
Seen it way too many times in the past 2 years If this was true there would be only Z520's on the water. Honestly, I just don't see that many of them. I would not trade my boat even up for a Z520. Doesn't mean they are bad boats, but there are other boats out there just as good or better.

Well I have had all these but a Legend. Including Basscat. I must say that Ranger fishes the flatest but does not ride as good. Sorry fact!! I took a test ride in a new 211 and I will tell you it rides smoother than all the others. And very noticable too. The 2013 than narrowed the sides and gave a little wider usable deck space this year. They also drive very responsive. It is not as stable when fishing but it is stable. The length of deck is big and with two up front no big deal. We all get spoiled wanting wider but do we really need it?? I like Phoenix and Legend!! 920 is big wide deck smaooth and stable and both are not corperations. But all are great boats no matter what choice!!

Friend of mine has the 21' Phoenix and loves it, but Id take a look at ProGator. I like their boats, course, it could be because of the name.

The best constructed boat is the Skeeter. The aircraft engineering in the design and aluminum support system are second to none. While other manufacturers use fiberglass lids on their upper deck lids Skeeter has used aluminum lids which are lighter and held in place with self-locking nuts and screws as opposed to aluminum rivets in the hinges that corrode over time leaving lids that fall off besides being heavier overall.
The aluminum aircraft inspired stringer system in a Skeeter boat does not add excessive weight to the boat robbing performance and fuel mileage. Not only does this system provide effective support to the overall hull it adds to the strength of the hull without the added weight of pull-truded fiberglass.
The overall hull design and structure of the Skeeter boat is unsurpassed in the industry. If you have not looked into the design of a Skeeter compared to how others manufacturers have elected to build their boats then you have not done your research completely.
Take it from a twenty year aircraft maintenance veteran! I'll stand behind the quality, composition, and design, of Skeeter Boats!!!

If you are considering a center console, you should really look at Nautic Star.
It is as nice as Ranger and Skeeter at a lower price.

After running older ranger (LOVED IT GREAT BOAT)Decided to upgrade and ended up buying a 2010 ZX225 skeeter havnt had it but couple months so far I like the boat, Do have some draw backs cant call factory for parts, had some cracks in gel coat show up from factory screw holes but they did stand behind that and fix it (thanks to G & B boat repair in overton) my dealer that i bought it from said skeeter wouldnt stand behind it and that it was on my dime, needless to say this will be the last boat this dealer in bossier city ever sales me when a shop i have never delt with stands up and gets warranty work for me when dealer says NOPE... I like the stability while fishing the sponsons give it as my 9 yr old son fishes with me 90% of the time. All great boats.
