So that's any tourney? I'm curious to see the lake this weekend. It was already a different landscape last month.
The Park Service called me yesterday to let me know that the 454 Bridge is OFF LIMITS to launch from if you are fishing a tournament. Just thought I would pass that along. Talked to a range yesterday and he said any tourney! Also heard Amistad is not going to close! Praying!

I consider Amistad my "home" lake and it sure is a different lake than it was 5 or so years ago, not a worse lake just a different lake. I dare say that the anglers that fish Amistad regularly have to be extremely adaptable and therefore are better 'hunters' of fish than those that ustilize constant level lakes. My only issue is the traffic, both tow vehicles and boats, that is funneled to the open ramps especially on the weekends which keeps me away except for during the week when I can get loose from work. Even during the week it can really get congested and folks need to have patience.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I think it would be hard to close it since it's on the border. If we could cut out Obummers vacations we could have a tram at the ramps.

Spur road 454 across Ranger Store go to the end, your there. I'm even more curious now. I've never seen any kind of bridge structure at the end of Spur 454. And, I only know of one Spur 454. I quit going there years ago because the road itself WAS the launch ramp, and you had to back into the water a very long way in order to float the boat. Is there a bridge structure on Spur 454, that is now above water? What am I missing? Thanks

Yes, I mispoke. I had never even seen the 454 Spur until last night- my most sincere apologies. I was just trying to pass along the info I received, not confuse anyone.

The Devils Lake Hydro Plant, Lake Walk Hydro Plant, and Steam Plant were the only dams on the Devils River and now Lake Amistad. Not sure exact location of the Devils Lake Hydro Plant was?
