About 3 years ago I was in this same position. My skeeter was stolen and I needed a new boat. I shopped around for months and doing hours of research each day on the internet and talking with people that fished with said boats.
Take the time to do demo rides on each of the boats you are interested in. Talk to people who own the boat , not the guys that say my sisters neighbors boss has a skeeter that delaminated.
I went with the Legend after my research for the following reasons.
Customer service- I had the Owner of Legend Randy call me with his cell number to answer any questions I had. No matter what the question was or time of the day he would answer them for me. I knew that if I ever had a problem then Legend would take care of me. I ended up having live well pump issues during a tournament and when I called Legend on a sunday someone called me back to walk me through it.
The boat- I fish rayburn, Amistad, Toledo and Falcon a lot so I needed a boat that would get me back to shore without urinating blood. I found that with the Legend Alpha 211. The storage layout was what I wanted also, After moving out of a 21 ft skeeter I had 2 large compartments open on the legend after loading tackle. The general boat construction is what I wanted, no unfinished fiberglass to irritate skin. Lights in all live wells and the ability to customize the boat and motor easily was perfect to me.
I could type for another 3 hours about how impressed I was with my Legend and the fine Folks over there honestly. Another thing that pushed me towards the Legend was the family ownership. Its not owned by a large company that is just looking for your money. Look into the family owned companies

Chevy, Ford or Dodge. Why go there? Check who the sponsors are for your responders.

Ive fished the legened tournaments the last three yrs and was gonna do a demo ride and they didnt do it last year. Id really like to ride in one in rough waters of lake fork to see if the hype is the truth on em.

The legend fishes great shallow and I do not have a single negative comment to say about the boat and its features. The beam is not as wide as the Ranger but I have not noticed a issue with that. I fish 2 people on the front deck most of the time.

Then again, That is just my opinion. I narrowed it down to Basscat, ranger and Legend on my search for a new boat and ended up with a Alpha 211 with a Yamaha 250. Go drive them all.

Legend Boats has the lowest resale value of the three.

I own a skeeter and love it but honestly they are all good quality boats. The only real way to answer it for yourself is to test drive them. It's personal preference.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I don't see how you can go wrong with Skeeter, Ranger, BassCat, Legend,Phoenix, Stratos, Bullet, Gambler/Sterling, or TRITON! You got the MONEY, they ALL have the boat!

I'm not a tournament fisher. I just like/prefer Ranger. I own one, and I would buy another (mine is not worn out, but it's old). And, I don't believe there's anything wrong with Ranger, and they sure are pretty IMO. I like to look good fishing, and a new 21 ft Ranger would do it. And, I know that 3 more feet of length would make it safer, whenever the waves get bigger.
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

Ranger Z520 is the cream of the crop.
Buy any other boat, and you will soon be selling it at a deep loss and looking to buy a Ranger Z520.
Seen it way too many times in the past 2 years
