Thanks. The batteries I'm pulling were the older yellow Everstart 29's and have a date of 2007 on them. I think I've done good with them, although I haven't used them much this past year. I think I know where I'll go.

Thanks y'all.

I fish around 30 to 35 times a year. I run a Motorguide 82# Tour Edition on a 18' Ranger Bass Boat in the winter and spring, then I swap them over to my 22' bay boat in the summer, I started buying the AGM Die Hard Platinum's from Sears, right now I am on my 3rd year and have had no problems. I sometimes run two days without recharging. The AGM batteries hava an extremely long life (up to 10 years), they have no memory, can be charged with a standard battery charger, they cost about $270 each, I know that is expensive, but I don't ever have to worry about my batteries.

I have bought just about every type of battery known to man. I have seen little difference. BTW, I so wanted the expensive batteries to be better, but they all seem to least 30 to 36 months. Sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. I store mine in the garage closet and charge them frequently. I have settled on the Walmart Everstart. I think they are the best value. However, there are other batteries that outperform with their marketing and have a great reputation.

I used Walmart batteries twice now. Both times they did not make it to the two year mark.

I like the everstarts from wal mart, have had good luck with them and also if you travel for tournies or fun and you have one go bad, there is prolly a Walmart within 30 miles of you and it's open 24 hours a day.

I've been using Walmart batteries, trolling and starting, for the last 10 years. No issues. Could probably squueze out more time, but for my "peace of mind" I just change them out every three years.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Just one thing, if you buy a boat (as I did) and are NOT a member, well guess what happens to your warranty? NOTHING!!
So, I won't buy Walmart/Sams Club - all seem to be made by Energizer, again. realmad
I thought Interstate was by far the best? hammer
Well, just my 2 cents
No offense meant...just a really BAD experience trying to get a battery ONE YEAR OLD, replaced under warranty. NO LUCK..

Sir, I do not think battery warranties are transferable?

OK, example! smirk I buy a battery at any auto parts dealer. Put it in the car/boat/whatever....I sell the car/boat/etc....the battery dies in 7 months.
The new owner can take that battery back to whatever parts store carries that line of batteries....checks the date code....and discounts a new battery or replaces it ! clap
Have had this happen many times and NEVER once asked for a receipt.
You sound EXACTLY like the person I talked to at Sams Club.
'Transfer of Warranty' ??? No, I have never heard of that......BTW, that was Excides excuse as well...'transfer of ownership'....I will NEVER, repeat NEVER have another Exide battery in my home again. Car/boat/flashlight...whatever!

Typically, do you keep a receipt of every battery purchased for the entire time of warranty? I think not...most of us don't......
