We can all go get 18 ft boats with 150s I guess. What's wrong with these sized boats? It makes weaving in and out of those hidden stumps a breeze lol

Wow! I kind of like it when i dont have to put my partners nor my safety at risk for a few grand. Especially since that few grand probably wont fix what you break trying to get there. Im not fishing it and could care less either way, but its funny how someone cries either way. If they didnt trailer someone would be on here crying about that

I just looked and the wind forecast is like 8-18 mph.
That is pretty good for April!
Ray Bob can get ugly so I guess it's a good thing for those fishing it.
Good Luck to all and stay safe!

Good Luck to all and stay safe! I actually took one over the bow out there one summer a couple of years ago. Broke my windshield, ripped my trolling motor pedal out of the recess and took off my front depthfinder at the mount. Knocked the wind out of. was not going too fast, just had one of those big waves mixed in the other stuff that caught me. Luckily I lost no equipment. That lake can get ugly for sure.

15-20 from the South is not a problem. West winds make RR dangerous. Liability - the boat lanes are so narrow now let's have people idle them in the dark while other people are running them on pad. Stumps are bad now - yes if you try to run it like it is at pool. Yeah Mark that lake can do some damage with West winds over 20. I will not even try cross the lake South to North in those winds anymore. I've been fishing it with South winds 20-30 for three weeks now with no problems. People will be running all over the lake in the afternoon. So what is the problem with a regular launch in the morning with winds 5-10. That is my gripe.

I just want to say thanks to Chad and Jeff for definitely making the right call on trailering Saturday. Running to Sanger from just about anywhere on the East side of the lake would have been brutal once those winds got up after lunch time. It felt like it was a sustained 25 with gust to 35+.

I don't mind trailering. Not sure why all the fuss over it. I like traditional starts too. How many other states have trailering events? Is it just a Texas thing? Don't know. I live I. Texas and have not given what other states do much thought. Most states I'd rather not emulate since Texas is pretty much heaven on Earth. LOL!!! True statement....

This whole trailering thing is new to me. I moved here from California and on lakes that get big water like Mead, Mojave or Powell, there's no trailering... You launch where they launch and fish where you can. Most of those lakes are three times the size of the lakes here. Please give us the surface acres for these monster lakes! Toledo Bend is 181,000 give or take, Rayburn about 114,000 and few others here close to 100,000. 3 times as big as the lakes here?

Probably the right call, you can always run the dam on south wind

The issue wouldn't be the dam area...it would be getting from Wolf, Indian, Lick, Buck, Sand, etc which is where 95% of the boats were to that area. I was just giving the props for it because I was VERY happy to not have to make that run in those rollers.

i want to give my opinion on why i dont like trailer tournaments. when there is money involved some people just cant be trusted. i like a livewell check then take off from there. i know people can still cheat doing this but it at least takes some of the variables of the trailer tourny out of the way. some trails have lie detector test some dont unless someone protests. but they dont test eveyone that gets a check just the big money. i have herd of people trailering to weigh in, heraring the weight and taking out enough weight to get a third or fourth place check and go under the radar. this is just my opinion and not trying to start any wars. im not calling anyone a cheat or anything like that. just posting my opinion on why i dont like trailer events.
