Yeah the Acadmey in North Richland Hills is full of hunting and fishing gear. I get almost all of my hunting and fishing gear from them.

Anyone in the Houston area that has not been to their new location at 1960 and 249 need to check it out. That store doesn't make me think they are doing away with fishing at all.

The H2O rods are pretty good. Nice for the price and the H2O Redeye Sexy shad is awesome. Caught a couple 5lbs'ers on Grapevine last week. Pretty good lipless cb.

Went to academy today,4-21-12,Still the same on amount of fishing supplies.Maybe stores that are not doing well, get shut down.Common business practice.

Only thing I have noticed is that their rod selections have gotten much worse but their tackle has gotten a little better

E-mail sent on Academy web page voicing disappointing fishing dept. inventory at Temple store. If your Academy store has gone downhill, might want too do the same.

Its probably based on a local thing if they sell a ton of fishing gear they will keep a lot in stock if the market is lacking for it why not downsize to save money

I know the academy in San Antonio on sw military which is close to my work has about half of the selection they use to have, very few big bite baits left here
I am blessed to have a opportunity to live a childhood dream as a professional wrestler
