Mine is "In Search of Trout." It really got me in touch with understanding why the fish are where they are and how to figure out what they are eating.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

"In Pursit of Giant Bass"...The late great Bill Murphy. If you really want to understand bass, esp. huge ones, must read book!

"Sow Belly" is excellent as well. Not a tactical book like Murphys, but looks at the obsession that the pursit of the world record has done to some guys. Really easy and good read.

Knowing Bass. I also like a lot of the In Fisherman how to books.

Fun Reads:

Hemingway on Fishing - His telling of how he shot himself twice with one bullet is greatness

Upriver & Downstream - Lots of good short stories

Too many to list!
The "Panfishing" book put out by North American Fishing Club years ago.
Charlie Brewer on Slider Fishin'. I like the way Charlie writes like he talks.
Freshwater Strategies by Doug Pike. His editorials and stories are priceless!
Small Stream Bass by John Gifford. He can really paint a picture with words.
Wadefish Texas by Bink Grimes. That book helped me to look at how I fished the bays in a whole new light!

and all that is within me,
bless His Holy Name!

Another vote for " In pursuit of giant bass" by Bill Murphy. Great info, down to the smallest detail. Stuff that really works.

I read this at least once a year. Best book ever.

Fishing was invented so man wouldn't get bored between turkey and dove.
