Despite being heavier, the pelican is faster on the water than the hunter styles. This is likely do to the hull being "tri hull". Gets the boat up whereas the Hunters just "plow" through the water.

Both are very good. Just trade offs to each.

Dan you idiot. I have a Bass Tender 10.2 not a Pelican Bass Raider. Keep my name out yo mouth homie.

I was out yesterday Eve and the boat kept swinging around while fishing the bank any ideas on spreading the weight around. I don't really carry that much stuff when I go. Maybe a couple bricks?

I did mine like the picture so it will fold up out of the way during transport and when really shallow. It really helps keep the boat straight in the wind.

On the other hand if you had control of the rudder movement you could gain more control just like a steering rudder on any boat.

Get a small outboard, I have a 2.5hp that I got for $150 on Craigs List. It will solve the fishtailing problem and you get to double your speed and save on battery life. The 90's mercury/mariner 2.5hp only weights about 30 pounds.

I have a few small outboards. One is the Cruise and Carry, 12 lbs, I think 2 HP, and air cooled. Most of my small engines are air cooled. Best is the 2 HP honda 4 stroke, wow amazing and way to cool, but it weighs 24 lbs.

Always remember to get titles for the small outboards, regardless the size, titles are required.
