I rented a Smart Car in Italy last year for a week. Couple of things I learned. It will do 100mph if you have enough time. It shuts off at stoplights and restarts when you give it gas, like a golf cart. I noticed it has 3, count them, 3 lug nuts holding the wheels on. Not for me, but you can park them anywhere a motorcycle can park, which is great over there.

You might get it all moving down the road, but what happens when you have to stop it on those little bitty tires and brakes? I am sure you all have experience how people just can't stand to follow you when pulling a boat no matter whether you are doing the speed limit or not. They just have to pull around you and then slow down. Little car = little brakes, + boat = BAD NEWS :-O

My BIL used to pull his Boston Whaler with a Honda Accord to fish Boston Harbor, his dad pulled hos sailboat with a station wagon. It can be done.

I wonder how long before we have boats with all electric engines?
