There is a huge flat up about mid way up on the right between Kates point and the 922 bridge on the Trinity River Side, Fished it one time with Walling back in 2001 and the waves were coming over the nose of the boat, Walling had the bilge pump running the whole time, we killed em on carolina rig on every cast. Fished it last year around Easter and stuck a huge fish, she jumped and threw my french fry. Go get her and tell her I'm still mad at her!!!!

Shallow grass and wood all over the lake. Pick one of the big creeks; Indian, Wolfe, Sand, Buck, Isle de Bois and throw your favorite spring baits. Move around until you find active fish. Really no secrets this time of year. Post spawn is a different story.

I went last Sunday for the first time. I put in at Sanger and hauled butt across the lake toward Sand and realized I forgot to put my plug in. Had to beach it and get in and put the plug it. That water is ice cold.

Since that was the first time on the lake, I didn't get to explore as much as I wanted. I'd really like to know how to get into Indian, Wolf, or Isle de Bois from Sand branch without ripping my motor off.

I will be back out this weekend to log some more hours on the lake and try to get more of a feel for it.

Most people on here are nice guys that like to help. There are only a few that make a negative comment every time someone ask for help! Especially guys that when they were younger before their name change asked about everything.

Retirement best job ever.

The only way to learn those lanes is to either have someone in the boat who knows them or to follow someone who knows them. I do not advise just following someone because they may be on plane. With the lake being 4 foot low some of those lanes are barely two boat widths wide. Little margin for error. Know is a good time learn where you can run when the lake is at pool.

Sounds like this lake is dangerous to run! You guys are making me worry. I have a TBF qualifier there first weekend in May. Do any of you know of a map that shows where it is safe to run?

No such map exists and no marked boat lanes. Main lake from Wolfe Island back West to the 922 bridge is clear. If you don't know what you are doing idle into all creeks and East of Wolfe Island.

Well that is a good thing! I would hate to tear up my boat down there.

Thanks for the replies.

Don't run the areas in red if you don't know what you are doing.
