I called and talk to JL Marine before I bought my poles. I asked the difference between the pro and the sportsman as far as durability and function. They told me that the pump on the sportsman is a little louder...which it is but not to a point where it is extreme IMO. They also said that it is just as durable and has a half second quicker deployment. I haven't had any problems out of mine. My boat is silver black and red so they match fairly good as well. I recommend the sportsman due to the price difference. Looking back on it I feel that I made the right decision.
