I took a look at it today in Garland. I may get it to replace my FS10.

I am waiting on the review after this weekends demo at the BP in Grapevine. My two concerns are stability, with the high seat position and the Paddleabliity. Is that a word? I plan on getting one in the next couple of weeks, but I would really like to see how it performs in choppy water

District Paddle was mistaken on the Date, it's now April 13th. Also, the pond at BP in Grapevine isn't very big, so the reality is that he'll only get to comment on stability in the various seat positions. There may not be enough room to properly turn the kayak in the pond too.

Neumie, u think it would be decent for B2B. Seems it would track well thru the surf with the way the bow is designed? I just left basspro looking at it.

Tracking probably wouldn't be the issue. My concern with using it BTB is the lack of rocker and freeboard necessary for negotiating the breakers/swells while out in the gulf. Meaning I think it would take a lot of water over the bow/sides while on the water, which would make me nervous about getting water in the hull with all those hatches. I also wasn't paying attention to whether or not the flush-mount rod holders had caps on the bottom of them to prevent water from getting in the hull.

All this is just from what I saw at Bass Pro too and obviously not having spent time on the water with it. But, if I were considering a kayak for BTB, this Ascend would not be on my radar.

Actually smartazz, I would get the Cobra Fish-n-Dive for BTB around HI. My Search 15 is just fine for Corpus BTB.

You could use that middle hatch for a bait tank, that's a cool kayak, but it looks like it would best utilized in the best situations, flats fishing, calm lake days, looks like a trolling motor could easily be mounted, its a pretty cool looking kayak and the set up is really cool, you can't really beat it for 699 brand new, this kayak looks more attractive the more I talk about it, anyone get a chance to paddle it yet
