Just went to acadamy and picked up a couple of cheap fiberglass poles pickens were slim don't see them lasting very long. So I thought I would ask so I can pick up a couple of good ones just in case.

I don't own one myself, but ive seen a lot of people recommend pro angler rods. Im sure someone will link you the page, excellent prices on the rods as well.

Taterpop, I've got a couple of cheap and I mean cheap Durango rods and reels in the garage that my kids and their young cousins have used over the last four years that will still catch the fire out of crappie and brim.

But as a serious fisherman I know that those rods won't hold up worth a darn if you use them day in and day out and abuse them the way some do. Whether you choose a St. Croix, Pro Angler, Falcon or one of those bright yellow 10'ers I've seen; I hope you catch many many crappie.

Who makes the bright yellow 10ft poles? I've seen a guy with one and just never asked.

I like the CrappieMaxx from Bass Pro, it has a soft tip, and a good backbone. The best part is they'll insure it for life for $8.00.

Those proanglers are remarkable and inexpensive for such a great product! Like a hand grenade going off in your hand when you get a bite!

This is the infamous buggy whip. A 5' Quantum Xtralite with a Tiny Deadbolt DUL20 spooled with 4# Stren and used with an 1/8oz Roadrunner. Caught bunches of crappie with it and a few hybrids, LMB and cats along the way. Bought it at Academy; $20 for the rod, $20 for the reel.

ProAnglers are great. Just bought my first one this year. I have St Croixs too. Both are good rods. thumb
