I was assuming of course that he was using one that didn't alreayd have the bell's and whistle's on it. You can buy just the plain road runner head and then put whatever grub, tube, etc that tickles your fancy on the back.

Sorry for the sarcasm and apparently weak attempt at humor. Roadrunner with chartreuse curly tail grub was the key yesterday. Went back out this evening to battle the wind. Caught 9 crappie and one small sandie. Six of the crappie were keeper size or better.

If the lake ever gets any water back in it, that stretch of water you paddled is pretty interesting. I've done that same stretch a coule times last year, and while I didn't find fish, I found some cool sloughs and timber areas. All dried out today, though.
The creek has good water going north / west from the boat ramp @ Trophy Club park.

I'm jonseing to get back up there this weekend and catch a couple more sandies. 2 seems to be my nature-imposed limit though...I can't ever bring home more than that confused

Pay the $1 to go into Trophy Club Park and there's a boat ramp on the creek. Head left from the ramp to go up the creek, head right to head to the lake, where you were this trip.

I'm probably going to head there on Sunday. If anyone doesn't have Easter plans, you're welcome to tag along.

aggie, if you followed the track and read all his post you would see that he went past the boat ramp. It even looked like he drove into the boatramp and then turned around. Then he went around the corner and launched. I have only been to trophy club park once and even I know that.... rookies wink

You get that trolling motor already? Or you just trolling for fun? blablabla

See, he agrees with my suggestion. I saw that he went past it, just wasn't sure that he recognized or saw it. Just pointing out that it's a good place to launch.

Crossbones, let's go hit it up soon man. I kind of want to check out the mouth of the creek. I hear there's a lot of flooded timber there? I've always gone left, never been towards the lake.

I'd love to hit it with you sometime. There is a lot of timber at the mouth of the creek, but its definitely not submerged anymore. There were times that I could touch the bottome easily with my paddle. Cant go this weekend...Easter, but maybe the next one.

Good deal man. Let's talk about it closer to next weekend. And hey that shallow water might be the ticket if the greenies are spawning there already.

I was under the impression that the white bass run was ending, but over in that section of the forums everybody is acting like it hasn't even really started yet. Next weekend might be a productive time to go. I'll probably switch off between targeting LMB and whites.
