jtbgator I really like the use of those flag pole holders. Very slick looking.

I also like this design. I definitely prefer the snug look. Looking forward to your performance report.

Clean design - well done jmalin. If possible, would be nice to see back-to-back videos in the pool standing or attempting to stand with and without the outriggers....and taking it to the tipping point each way. Suggestion - maybe add a slip-nut design to allow you to extend or retract depending on conditions.

Still haven't had the boat on any big water yet, but it worked out great this weekend as I pitched into a lay down and stuck a 2.5 pound bass. Those river fish sure fight hard. Standing stablilty is great. Also, the main PVC pipe on the hull fits loosely enough to pivot, so I can literally turn up both outriggers and get them at an angle where they don't affect my paddle stroke or drag water.
Looking at fish finders now as my next upgrade. Anyone have a suggestion? I want to mount the transducer through a scupper hole if anyone has done so with favorable results.

Looks good. I've done this on a previous kayak and it worked out well save for one issue. The places you stand (where your feet go) need to be reinforced with high density foam or else your plastic will eventually crack. I've seen it in several models and had one do it to me. Trying to save some of you the headache of dealing with a cracked seat later. They leak water into your hull and cause issues. Reinforce it and you're good to go.

I don't have a yak as of yet but I do like his design. I don't think I will be trying to stand up and fish when I do get my yak cause am 45 years old and have had to many cold ones to add to my belly...LOL...Anyway my son might like to stand up and this design looks like something that is easy to build. My question to you is when you say add some high density foam what exactly are you referring too and how do you apply it? I have messaged you before and you seem to know alot about kayaks.

SOT kayaks have a space between the hull and the floor. The floor on most (certainly on any kayak that would need outriggers)isn't designed to support the weight of an adult standing. By inserting dense foam between the floor and hull in the area where you would stand, you share the load between them.

Artie is right on. Usually you can buy foam blocks or it comes with certain shipping containers. Depending on the space under the seat, you could use the foam blocks they use to car top kayaks with. There are cheaper solutions but this is the quick fix if you don't have access to it. $10 link http://www.walmart.com/ip/15611294?wmlsp...pla&veh=sem
