You are using the right line, trust me.

Just get some kvd spray and keep fresh line on the reel.

Good on the water idea.

Didn't I read somewhere that there is a certain chemical in Reel Magic that is not good for flourocarbon?? I am certain of it because that is what initiated my move to KVD conditioner.

Guess I am just old school. I have been steaming my line since helping my brother out with his mono leaders for commercial King fishing in Fla back in the 60s. Its pretty simple. Stretch about 30 yards of line out and walk along it with a face cloth while I pour HOT water on the face cloth. End of problem. My line will usually lay limp and loose any memory it might have had for awhile.
