I know for a fact some of mine have been stolen. Nothing worse than a thief. No different stealing someones juglines, or cutting them up, than if someone stole your stuff or vandalized your gear/equipment. If it is legally marked, leave it alone period. If it is not legally marked, report it to the game warden. Sometimes the weights break off and the jugs drift way out of range. Part of it. Don't judge a man who does things the right way, or accuse all from the ignorance of a few. Nothing pisses me off more than someone running my juglines. Yes, I can tell...the hooks are tangled up in each other from someone yanking up and down on them real quick to see if a fish is on it. A thief is a thief. If you want to catch some catfish on juglines, invest the time, money, and effort into making your own, and then the time required to run them and bait them. Chicken you know whats see a jog bobbing, and steal other people's fish all the time. Rediculous.

Why do you mess with anyone else's juglines period?
Because alot of jugs that I have run into are obviously floating trash, left for days, and usually with dead rotting fish on them.. Irresponsible, no talent, redneck meat haulers have no business leaving their garbage in the same waters conservationists pay to protect.. Thats why.

Spend your efforts going after the people at Tawakoni who clean fish 24/7 at Tawakoni. They have to be commercial fishermen. Ask the guides there...they will confirm it. Occasionally, a jugline gets away. I lost one over spring break at Tawakoni. Not because I gave up on it, because we drove all over the lake looking for it. Difference is, mine are marked...and always will be. You can go to any lake in Texas and see juglines set up wrong...wrong colored jugs, not marked, etc...I leave them alone. They are not mine to touch. You obviously haven't ran juglines before...if you did, you just might change your opinion. There are idiots everywhere...and sometimes they run in kayaks too...

If a jug is obviously old like with moss growing on it, I will pick it up. No sense in having hooks out there for a kid to get hooked on when it gets shallow or hooking fish to die.

There is obviously not enough GW out there to take care of a lot of stuff such as this. Everybody talks about not wanting more restrictions/laws but then fuss when we try and take care of stuff ourselves when something is obviously wrong.

I find em floatin with moss on the line and jugg imma cut em out and trash em too! If they have been there long enough to get moss on em then you are leaving them unattended more than the rules stipulate tagged right or not! Thats not stealing! No one should have to clean up after other peoples bad manners! I jugg with my son cause he wants to but we track them all down before we leave the water that day! I don't think its too hard to ask others to be just as responsible!

My son and I came across a jug line in the middle of the lake Saturday that looked like it got away from the owner (dark water ring around it, moss on the line). There was NOT an address or name on it. I thought the jugs had to be marked with the owner's info. My son grabbed it and there two blues on it, an estimated 20lbs. and a 5lbs. Completely wound up in the line, eyes bulging from the pressure, line cutting into the fish and looking like they had been hooked for days. We cut them loose. Sorry to the guy who owned the jug, I would have contacted him had it been marked and told him where it was. Bro you did the right thing. Don't feel like you owe an apology. If one of my boys ever get away from us I would hope another real fishermen would handle business like you did!

Why do you mess with anyone else's juglines period? The jug I came upon in the middle of the lake was a 3" PVC pipe a foot and a half long with caps on the end. That can do some damage to a boat, and I don't want mine or someone else's boat getting damaged. I don't have a problem with jug fishing, it's legal, go fish. It was obvious that somene took the time to make it and does not want to lose it, but accidents happen. There was not a name or contact info on it, so I cut the lines, let the fish go and put it in the trash at the marina. That is why I messed with someone else's jug line, "PERIOD".
