For all of you stating that Rojas lost because he didn't have a back-up plan, the same applies for Alton.
Fact, Alton Jones jumped Dean's water when he was not in contention thus going against the unwritten rules of competition in the Elite series.
Fact, Alton jumped KJ's water on the final day of the 2009 Classic, when he was not in contention, costing Kelly the win.
No one needs a one-sided TV show to know that.

I remember everyone being bent out of shape and hating on JVD for doing the same thing to Denny, and Denny even called him out like Rojas too.

I rode with Dean Rojas the first day of the tourney. The area he was fishing was a small stretch between two bridges mainly, kriet was past us beyond the second bridge. We stayed there ALL day. Alton might have come into bayou dinh, but he NEVER came up that far. But regardless Alton should have left that water to Dean since he had a chance to win. Its just respectful and he would want the same courtesy shown to him.

How can Jones be considered "not in contention"? He was in the top 12. He was fishing the final day. He was 6-7 lbs out of the lead. He was very much in contention. He might have needed a miracle but he was still in contention. Even his marshall said he'd been fishing there.... I'm not gonna give up my spot for nobody if I'm fishing the final day. I dont think any of us really have enough info. I sure don't. But I do think he was in contention. Why have a top 12 if you don't have a chance at winning from 12th place?

The "unwritten rule" is about respect for one another. Always doing the right thing even when it is not required ( not a rule or law). There are a lot of things we should all do every day although it is not required. Hold a door open for a woman or elderly person....we don't have to....but it's the right thing to do. I do understand it is hard for some to do the "right thing" when money is involved! But regardless, it is the honorable thing that men of integrity must do.

If the rule is "unwritten" isn't everybody's interpretation going to be different since its not defined?

Yes, probably for the average person, but not at the competitive Pro level.

After watching this I would be ashamed of myself if I was Rojas. He didn't lose because of Alton Jones, he lost because his head wasn't right. His little rant about Alton being garbage and having no integrity as a man is childish to say the very least. It would be different if he hadn't been sharing water for 3 days prior but he knew he would have company, it wasn't something that just happened. I saw on hear that someone said Alto cost rojas the tournament. Really? Faircloth found unmolested fish and sacked them up. Rojas was done before he ever made the first cast simply because his head wasn't right.

Rojas sounded like a lot of TFFr's complaining about potlickers. There may be more to the story but neither filed a protest or if they did it wasn't found valid. But at least BASS did what they want to do, keep people talking about it and waiting for more drama.
