So dead sticking huh sounds weird to me but if it works lol... I never heard of the minnow and jig trick that sounds like a good idea/method I may have to try it myself

Mr. Crappie has a pre made rig. But you can just make one your self.

How crowded is it on Saturday morning? My son wants to go fishing this weekend, and looks like Saturday weather is going to be iffy. I ran across this post and thought inside fishing, that would work.

Any reports with this cold weather? Thought I might come try tonight.

New to this forum. I was looking for a place in metro area that has good bank or barge fishing primarily for crappie. Do you vets consider this barge the best? Also, not much for night fishing. Most of the reports here seem to indicate night has been best. How are the mornings and are the crappie spawning yet? Thanks.

The barge bite is getting good in the AM not much on numbers but getting some big boys. Today they where doing good in the AM but did not fish but for a few mins. The weather may mess them up. I will try to get a good report tonight or in the AM after I get off work.

I would not say that the barge is the best place to fish. But they have been in there for a mouth and a half now and we have been killing them. It's a really EZ place to fish and sometimes can be fun too. That's why ppl fish there.

I didn't catch all those fish that I took home the other night dead sticking it I was actually catching them on the down fall. I started at 6'6'' my rod length pitch it out and let it fall back to me and bam felt the thump if they didn't hit it I'd swim it around a little then pitch it again. Once I didn't get a bite at 6'6'' for a while I'd them move down to 8'6'' and do the same gig. 7 of the 21 I cleaned were males and 14 were females! I love fishing the barge always have a great time people are usually friendly and people to talk to even if they aren't biting and the fish are usually always there just have to know where to fish! A majority of the fish I caught were hitting it pretty good, but some of them were just lightly tapping it all caught on jigs. If you haven't jigged before some of the bites you wouldn't know were a fish unless you've done it before! I will likely be out there again sometime this weekend! If you see me shout at me!
