Bigmike ..talked my 5 & 6 year olds into heading to the barge before sunlight in the morning. Any advice as to which spot on the barge might produce for them.
Crappie, cats...doesn't really matter. Thanks in advance.

Get there as early as you can. It will be packed the center well had been reall good in the front shallow. And the back of the 1st well deep. Good luck and I will be working in the AM.

Update. Last night sand bass good. Hybrids I think they got 4 threw the night. As for crappie we got them but not very many keeps. I got 33 crappie even with working. But only 7 keeps. They where all shallow for me 6' deep 2.5-3' down. The color was Patriot!!!!! For me and black night did good plus blue thunder. I may just say a mixed bag of colors did good. Only got one pic.

went there friday evening from 10pm - 2am. caught nothing. The people around me also weren't lucky. I think morning's the best time for crappie fishing or maybe wait a few more days until the water temp goest above 60F

I went Friday from 6 to 10 AM outside some sand bass was being caught one by me on a Jig others was catching on minnows with casting and doing a slow retrieve. This slow retrieve was getting some hybrids. The most action I seen was at the crack with minnows. Some nice crappie was caught.
My jigs was not woking all that good. Still a good time and the place was busy making it hard to fish inside as a jig fisherman.
Bring your minnow bucket as that seemed to be what this fish wanted.

Fishing was horrible yesterday. I only had 4 keepers in 12 hrs.
Crappie 2lbs 9oz
My next PB is due May 16, 2014

How deep is the water below the barge? If you are asking how deep the barge is 2' to 30'.

Update. The crappie has slowed down. But the crappie are getting bigger. Some guy had hooked 4 hybrids when I stopped by today. Lost them all. But I did see a really nice stringer!!!!! From 1.65 to over 2lbs.
