Been catching some decent size bass out of here still - even today in the rain caught two small LMB.
They are still holding close to the bank, slow dragging weightless worms of various colors.
Haven't had luck on CB's, top water, or flukes.
T-rigged zoom lizards were doing alright too.

It's been two weeks since I caught anything but the last one was a fattie. Weightless YUM dingers usuaully do the trick for sure. I was out there last Sunday for a bit and didn't see any fish shallow. I wear Costas so I know it isn't because I couldn't see them. They were just not there like I had seen them in the past few weeks into the middle of March. They were all over the place then.
@REGMA-I have lived in the neighborhood for 5 years this May and don't recall any fish kill. I do remember TPWD putting an algaeicide in both lakes though. Maybe I had a sinus infection and missed the smell. LOL.

Two summers ago there was a kill on the South pond. I advised them to keep the fountains on during the heat, but. . .it didnt happen. Following the kill they were kept on. IMO every little bit helps.
The neighborhood association via Magnolia Fisheries puts an algaecide in there when the growth gets bad. It works ok and prevents the fountains from clogging as much.
I caught a few on the fly last week, but havent fished since. There is a father and son duo that fish out there and normally do very well. Its fun watching the kid- he is all business.

Is it a huge, ripped guy and his son? That is Tracy. They are fairly new to Dallas from Arkansas. His son kills me. He looks like there is a check on the end of his line with every cast.

Exactly- I would hate to have to compete against them in a tourney. Very focused on the subtle bite.

It's like all of the ponds I fish, on one day and off the next. I fish it 3-4 times a year and I have caught the very large bass (8-10 pounds) from there twice. Did a CPR and released her both times. I don't keep fish because I want my Kids and Grand Kids to be able to catch fish too. Because of the pressure, many of the bass pulled back away from shallows today.

Yesterday mid afternoon caught three on 5" senkos fished slow and shallow. When I think I'm fishing slow, I slow it down even more.
When sun was setting I couldn't get them to hit anything but top water. I threw senkos, t-rigged lizards, weightless flukes - nothing. Switched to a zara puppy and had 3 fish in the next 15 minutes (biggest being ~2.5)

This topic is a few months old, but my curiosity is new. Is there any recent news/fishing from this area?

Went recently to the north pond with a buddy this past Saturday for about an hour. Threw soft plastics, but no takers.

Same here. Threw weightless soft plastics for about an hour last Tuesday. Nada. The blue gill are pretty active though.

These ponds get so much pressure now it's really tough to get on any decent bite except in the spring. Every once in a while you can still get on them good. I've had a handful of days this summer with 10-20 fish days. Size is not what it used to be though.
I do wish they had a GW that would check it on the weekends. I don't get out there every weekend but whenever I am there I always see people keeping fish or attempting to keep fish.

Three responses in and excessive heat makes the Nation opt for greener, I mean clearer (?) waters. You cats know what I mean. Appreciation...
