Currently using a flush mount LMS332C in the bow. Does anyone know if the HDS5 will flush mount in the same opening??

You'll have to trim, the HDS5 cutout is a little under 1" wider and about .5" taller. Do a search for "<model#> template" (HDS5 template, LMS332C template) and you can get the templates (HDS5 is on Lowrance website as a download, found the LMS332C here... http://www.manualslib.com/manual/96574/Lowrance-Lms-332c.html?page=48Double and triple check though, I've found cases (X65) where their templates/dimensions do NOT match the physical units (that may be the only one, but it's enough to make me gunshy). Assuming both are right, you'll need a larger cutout (and the HD5 has gentle curves unlike the LMS which is pretty square)

I'm just wondering what the difference in 800 and 455 MHz setting is and how to get the best picture in the settings on the gen2 hds 5 with gen 2 LSS and if I have the newest update since the blue #9 palette is available can anyone share their settings via pm or some setup tips

75% of the time I fish water less than 20'. I use 800 kHz when fishing about 8' to 20'. This will give you a little clearer picture than 455 kHz. When I go less than about 8' I will usually switch over to 455 kHz to get a little wider range in the shallow water. More than 20' I'm not real familiar with. But I usually use 800 kHz as well in deeper water.

Installed a new Elite 7 on the bow of my boat and went out for a test ride. All was well so headed out on a week long trip to Lake Grenada, MS. Got on the water and the unit seemed ok for a few hours and then the down imaging screen basically went blank. After adjusting contrast was able to get a weak bottom line but, no other display. Even tried to reset to factory settings, rebooting and nothing seems to help. Anyone have any ideas? I would find no sensitivity setting anywhere for the DI, contrast only. My old HDS 8 worked like a champ.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

May be this is offtopic, but I 'm trying to decide between a Lowrance X4 Pro and a Garmin Echo 200. I want to install the transducer inside the hull in my fiberglass boat, using epoxi. Do I have to buy a special extra transducer for that or the ones that come with the unit will work? I know I will loose some power and water temperature measurement. Any advice? Thank you.

Someone a month or two ago posted about how to "enter GPS coordinates". I didn't see a response (I'm catching up) so I PM'd them, but also for anyone else... Use the "GOTO" function in Chart mode. Then put in the GPS coords and enter. That'll move the cursor to that GPS spot. You can enter the waypoint, or plot a route, whatever, at that point.

Does anyone know if you can overlay your mph on the structure page on the gen 2 touch? Wanted to be able to see mph while having only the structure screen on.

I have done it on my Lowrance HDS10 Gen 1. Id imagine you can do it on the touch as well. I belive you need to go into your "system settings" or "Page Settings" and look for "Edit Data Overlay".

I don't know on the overlay, I have a 12 touch, a gen 2 10 & a gen 1 7. The gen 1 & 2 are easy to overlay but after 2 hours of trying to overlay the Touch I'm thinking it can't be done (whole different menu Big 10). I haven't had time to read the manual again. I also couldn't figure out how to adjust the panel sizes. I must be too stupid for the Touch and just right for the gen 1 & 2's?

Sorry to not be any help on the touch. I havnt played with one any and was just assuming they were simular to the gen 1 & 2s. Good luck to ya. I sure would hate to not be able to adjust panel sizes and data overlay.

Figured I'd contribute to this since I read all 30 pages after taking delivery of my new boat with a new hds7 touch installed and getting a considerable amount of help and info from this thread.
Overlay.. when looking at the graph you want to add the overlay to, bring the menu up on the right side panel. Once the menu is there with the palette and other settings you will notice a blue tab at the top. Pull that down with a swipe of the finger. You will see a button that says overlay data. Touch or tap that and you will see more prompts that should get what you want.
Split screen size .. on the same menu as the overlay data button is another button that says adjust split or something to that nature. Touch or tap that and then pops a bubble at the split. Adjust and click save.
There Was a video somewhere posted that showed these very items! I think it may have been from a bgg marine maybe. If I run across it I'll link it but no promises in the video.

Thanks Flyer, I knew there had to be some way to do but I'll be danged if I could remember it. The little blue tab, I don't remember touching that one so that had to be what my problem was. My brains just too full of other worthless info I just can't remember what I read in the manual. Now if I could just get a chance to use the dang thing. Oh by the way to the forum!
