Join us for the Lake Arlington and Cabela's of Fort Worth Bass Tournament on March 16, 2013. Rules are below. Contact kristy.sheikh@arlingtontx.gov for more information and to register, please go to www.naturallyfun.org --> Register Online --> Programs --> Special Events --> Lake --> Show Courses

There are 2 courses listed: first is the tournament itself and second is the Fish Fry following the tournament. Register for both to attend both.

GENERAL TOURNAMENT:
1. The tournament start time for all is 6:00 am with angler check-in starting at 5:00 am AT THE Lake Office in Richard Simpson Park.
2. Tournament weigh out is by 3 pm. ALL anglers are REQUIRED to check-out with the tournament director prior to leaving the lake, regardless of number of fish caught or if leaving prior to tournament weigh out time.
3. Pre-registration is available for $30.00 per angler and same day registration from 5 am thru 6 am for $40.00. Entry fee is non-refundable.
4. Tournament open to any fisherman, however, anglers 17 or under MUST have a parent/guardian authorization on registration form.
5. Tournament director will weigh up to 5 bass (any species of bass allowed) per angler. Total combined weight of 5 fish will be recorded and be used for tournament placement.
SPORTMANSHIP
6. All anglers must fish from a boat and in waters accessible by boat only (you are not permitted to leave the boat to reach another fishing hole).
7. This is a SOLO Angler event (i.e. no team weigh outs), however, up to 2 anglers may share a boat.
8. Only artificial lures may be used for fishing.
9. Only 1 rod per fisherman may be used.
10. “Hole Sitting” is not allowed (i.e. anglers may not stake out or have someone stake out a particular spot for fishing).
LICENSING:
11. All anglers must have a valid Lake Arlington boat permit (1-day permits available for purchase on tournament day).
12. All anglers must present a valid Texas state fishing license and agree to abide by all rules and safety statements listed on registration document and/or briefed at start of tournament.
13. Texas state fishing laws/rules dictate minimum/maximum and slot limits of all fish. Failure to abide by the appropriate length measurements will result in a 1 pound penalty.
14. Every effort must be taken to keep fish alive through tournament weigh out.

SAFETY
15. All anglers will wear a US Coast Guard approved floatation device while on plane in the waters of Lake Arlington.
16. Anglers who are minors are required to wear a US Coast Guard approved flotation device the entire time they are on the water.
17. NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS ALLOWED DURING TOURNAMENT.
18. Each vessel is subject to random safety checks at any time during the tournament to ensure all required safety devices, lights, horns, etc. are in working order.
PRIZES
19. Tournament prizes will be given to the top three (3) total combined weigh out weights and will be for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd places ONLY. There are no separate divisions based on age or ability and no biggest fish or other such specialty awards.

maybe if someone was actually in the lake office during the hours they post as "open" you could purchase a yearly pass.

I've been over there on three occasions during the month of January to renew my pass and the place has been dark as a well diggers a**.

I know they have pay boxes where I launch there. Just drop a check for the annual amount, fill out the form and you'll have your sticker in a few days.

The payout is in the form of Cabela's gift cards for 1st thru 3rd places in addition to many 'add-on' prizes. The 3rd place is $50, 2nd is $100 and 1st is $200.
