Right now windfinder.com is forecasting winds from the SSE 18 gust 37 for 9 am Saturday. Unless something changes....it is going to be sporty out there. It is a small lake Brian. Just stay on the south side and no problem.  I have fished Grapevine a lot over the years. It use to be my primary lake. When the wind is out of the NW or SE it can be pretty rought because it is pretty long. What you say is true about almost any lake. If you get a protected ramp and a protected bank you can fish almost any day, although being able to complete at the level needed to win a NTTC tournament is whole other issue. You really don't want to be hidding from the waves in a cove when you have 24' boats crusing the lake with impunity. To tell you the truth I am tempted, but I don't have a partner and I am too cheap to put up the $80 entry fee myself.

I was teasing ya Brian. If the wind comes out of the west that lake is a beast for sure. I wanted to fish this one being so close to home. Going out of the country at 5 am on Sun and the wife said hell no to me fishing it. I still think several very good fish will be caught but it could be anyone's for sure.
Good luck to all of the anglers participating. I am going to try and come to the weigh in.

Make sure you got the camera, tape, and certified scale ready. I believe the lake record will be broken during this tourney. You were spot on about the lake record being broke! New record of 53.9!

Thanks Ken & Company for another good tournament, fishing was tough, but even though they were so hard to catch, there was some nice fish caught, but they didn't come easy for most of us!
