So after months....i have always tied on a jig as last resort with no luck getting bit. I knew how to fish texas rigged plastics, but jigs were so much different. Well today I went out to one of my favorite honey holes with my girlfriend and we were getting shut out. So for fun I pulled out a black/brown/blue flippin jig with a strike king rage tail rage craw trailer.

Casted. let it sink. Hopped it once, shook it on slack line, and BAM!!! fish took it out and i set the hook....well, not enough. came out and fish got off. I was really bummed out but really excited at the same time now that i could distinguish the bite of a jig and a TX rig. So we walked around til i found a place on the water where i could see some good bass structure under the crystal clear water. Hop...Hop....wait....LINE IS MOVING...SET THE HOOK!! and I pulled in the first ever jig bass after months of research on how to use these things. I can be sure for the rest of the prespawn i will always have a jig tied on, for sure. I'm hooked.

Fat Rick makes good jigs. He just posted earlier on here. There are quite a few custom jig makers on the trading post.
