I caught an octopuss in 300 feet of water off the coast of California. That sucker sprayed ink all over me before I let him go.

I caught a cat under a dock on the delta. Was skipping a Snagg Proof in shady pockets under docks. Guess I skipped to close to the bank. I felt some tension and set the hook on a pissed off tomcat. After a five minute fight, I let him have the frog. He was going complete ape chit when he got near the boat.
Have caught many seagulls when trolling rapalas for trout up around Lake Tahoe

A rock, clam shell, two beer cans, an old net, hooked a racoon that jumped all over my Yellow Magic. Luckly he was not hooked real bad and came off, a cottonmouth snake while fishing up in Arkansas. I killed the snake because I wanted my Yellow Magic back.
Most fun was when I used to go scuba diving up at Isle Royale. We would bring fishing rods up to try and catch dinner (which we did alot). We would tie chicken skin (tie no hooks) and throw the bait up in the air. The Sea Gulls would swoop in and swallow it whole. We then had an airial(sp?) battle until the Sea Gull spit out the chicken skin. Most times another one would grab it before it hit the water and the fight was on again.
My friend hooked a cat on a jig. He was fooling around with a cat on a pier by throwing the jig on the deck the cat would chase it and one time he pounced on it and the hook hooked his collar (no skin) the cat took off and my buddies reel started screaming off line. He actually "fought" it for awhile then it got behind a fence. My buddy finally cut his line. That must he been interesting when the cat got home with a black and blue jig in it's collar.

Some clothes and a rope tied to blocks in lake falcon on the same cast on a crankbait. I moved on, I didn't care to see what else might be there.
I hooked a nutria somehow at fork, he was a ticked off critter.

I was fishing near a golf course. Had a spinner bait which I was slo rolling and all of a sudden I feel this hit-weight-resistance. I reel like mad sensing I have a big fish- I get it in and lo and behold I have snagged a golf putter! It was a Scotty Cameron BullsEye copy which is a good stick-
Henry David Thoreau said that "Some men fish all their lives without knowing it is really not the fish they are after." I think that I am approaching this stage, that is to have the opportunity and joy to go fishing and enjoy God's magnificent creation.

I had line wrap around the neck of a Canadian Goose. Man what a fight. I eventually had no choice but to just break off.
Once trolling for walleye in Canada, set the hook on what I thought was a huge walleye or Pike. turned out to be a rock the size of a basketball that I somehow managed to get all the way to the boat. Hooked it right in a crack!!!!
