Obviously an illegal crawfish attempting to cross. Especially given the stealth paint job, and seeing as it is in the custody of the US Border Patrol. That's a danged big mud bug, sha. Then again, the agent's hands appear to be twice the size of his head. I'll bet he gets all the girls.

I ordered 3 pounds of craw fish the other night at a rr here in town and they brought me one of those...

Freshwater prawns are common on the San Marcos River but I'm surprised they would be in the Rio Grande. They are actually big freshwater shrimp. I would expect to see a crawdad like that in Squaw Creek from eating too many neutrons.
