I never had much luck with them. Father in law gave me one and it didn't take long to figure our why.

I have one of the spinning reels but I don't use it much. Never could make myself get one of their baitcasters. A funny mix of new technology in the levelwind but the rest of the reel appeared several years behind.

Well I have in the past had some misgivings when I checked out their products. I may have to get one now off ebay to put in the man cave for a conversation piece.

I hate to see them go out of business, but I have never heard great things about them. I personally have never fished one though, so I don't have an opinion on them.
I do have a brand new 40 series US Reel spinning reel that I won in a drawing, but I have never used it either because its a little bigger than I like for bass fishing. I wish they would of let me had the 30 series. The reel feels really good.

im surprised that so many negative comments have come up on these reels, I have never had a problem with mine, I also wonder how many of the negative commenters have actually used them. To each his own, I like em and am still looking for 600 700 ot 800 series baitcasters. PM me if you have any you want to get rid of

They made the H2O Mettle reels feel like primo stuff.

not sure why yours didnt work good, ive got 600s 700s 800s and the newer liberty one, and have really honestly never had a prob. Might be you guys are more used to higher dollar reels than these which I grant you are great reels.

In all Fairness, I bought one for 10 dollars at academy several months ago, I used it a hand full of times, It was ok but it seemed like I lashed that thing everytime out after about 40 cast or so, It would not be fair to them to make a judgment on a 10 dollar purchase on all there products, It is now sitting on a shelve in my shop with a severe back lash in it.
I am blessed to have a opportunity to live a childhood dream as a professional wrestler

Can find no other mention of this and their website is still operating.... yes it is, but after talking to the southern distributor, I found out all the phone numbers are no good, the one that does work goes to a voice mail that is never answered, and no emails are being delivered. Id like to know more myself
