If my friend "told" me he cought a 36'' long, 17lb bass, there is no way I would share that on this forum. Too embarassing for me.... lol.

he is not a bass fisherman.
I truely think he is being truthful about what he believes as far as how big the fish was. i know my first real good bass seemed like a giant to me.
i guess somewhere in the back of my mind, I wondered if he was anywhere close to what the scales said. it does not appear so to me... but maybe there is something about this fish that would stick out to someone with more experience with giant fish.
also, the body of water really has giant bass potential.. but never seen a DD pulled from there in the last 10 years

I'm not even gonna give you the full 5# default since the pic is so terrible.

You need to tell Wayne to get a new scale. Good looking fish though, probably made his day to catch it. Congrats to the angler.

Looking at the picture, the fisherman is holding camera at arms length and it would seem intentionally has hand out of frame that might give more clue to its size. I'm guessing we are being set up...thus the 3lb guess. My apologies if it really is a nice fish.

I'm going to guess around 79 lbs. Maybe 80 but he is holding it close to the camera so I could be wrong.
